Bicyclists rejoice! One of the largest biking events in Northeastern Ohio is right around the corner! The Summit County Metroparks is presenting its annual STOMP Bicycle Adventure taking place Saturday, September 1 starting at 8 AM, starting at the Lock 3 (200 S. Main Street) in Downtown Akron, and traversing the newly completed Towpath Trail.
Sign up today and you can choose one of three distances – 10, 20 or 30 miles – and enjoy a light breakfast, SAG support, lunch and live music. Advance registration (ending August 20) is $20 per person and $50 per family. Day-of registration is $30 per person.
All three routes are completely on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. The 30-miler departs between 8 and 9 AM and goes south to Clinton and back; the 20-miler departs between 9 and 10 AM and goes north to Ira Road and back; and the 10-miler departs between 10 and 11 AM and goes south to Manchester Road and back.

I will be riding my brand new bike on the 20-mile bath (30 if I decide to get ambitious). I will be reviewing the event and I hope to see you there as we celebrate the beauty of Summit County Parks and the brand new Towpath Trail!
