If you have no idea what we’re talking about, you’ve probably never seen the 30 Rock episode “Leap Day,” but that’s OK – we’re going full Festivus and celebrating this made-up TV holiday on Monday, February 29 from 6-8 PM on Grandview Avenue.
Leap Day William will be strolling Grandview Avenue from 6-8 PM to hand out candy. Be sure to don your best blue and yellow outfit because Yelp will be giving away prizes to everyone wearing the traditional Colors of Leap – and you don’t want to be caught wearing anything besides blue and yellow or else! Poke your eye, pull your hair, you forgot what clothes to wear! You can also pick up the limited edition Leap Day 2016 t-shirt at drinkupcolumbus.com/leapday, designed by Grandview screenprinter Outfit Good.
Look for rhubarb beer, cocktail, food and other Leap Day specials from Grandview businesses like Watershed Distillery, Stauf’s, The Avenue (mixing up a special Leap Day Blue Bee’s Knees cocktail), Matt the Miller’s Tavern, Honeykiss Bakery (with homemade rhubarb pie), Smokehouse Brewing and more – the full lineup of participating locations and specials will be posted on Yelp and Facebook.
Grandview businesses still interested in participating can email Cheryl Harrison.
Head to Giant Eagle Market District in Grandview at 8 PM for the official Gnarley Leaps Away Leap Day Afterparty featuring five different version of MadTree Gnarley Brown and a rhubarb spritzer. Market District is also the “Official Rhubarb Sponsor” of Leap Day 2016.
